quote request help

We have designed this form specifically for capturing the details required to estimate the cost of your project – please take your time and enter as much detail as possible. The more specific your details are, the more accurate our estimate will be.

Following are some hints as to what you might enter in each section of the form.

Contact details

We ask you to provide your personal information so that we are able to contact you to deliver a written estimate. We will not use this information for any other purpose.

We also ask for your email address in case we have any questions about your project. Sometimes we need to ask about details you have entered in the form to ensure we properly understand your requirements. If you prefer to be contacted by phone, please indicate this on the form.

Type

What kind of finished product are you after? A book? A web site? Something else?

Choose a type that best matches your project. Don't worry if your project doesn't seem to fit any of the listed types, just choose one that you think fits best and then include more detail in the purpose and/or description.

Purpose

What do you want to achieve with your project? What are your goals? What do you expect to happen after we've delivered the printed items or published the web site?

The detail you enter here will help us match our estimate to your expectations – so it's worth thinking about this before you start your project.

Description

What do you want the finished project to look like? How do you want it to function?

Please include as much detail as you can think of, this will help you to organise your thoughts and will hopefully answer most of our questions.

Include information about the audience of your project and how you would like to 'deliver' the finished item. Also mention any existing items that gave you the idea for your project.

A description of the content (e.g. text, photos) that you'll provide will also help us to give you a more accurate estimate.

Size

How big do you think the finished job will be?

This could be the dimensions of a billboard, book or brochure; the number of pages in a book or on a web site; or the minimum and maximum reproduction size of a logo.

If you would like us to quote on a printed item, please also include the number of copies that you think you'll need.

The size doesn't have to just be a number – please describe the size and extent of your project as best you can.

Deadline

What date do you expect us to deliver a completed product?

This should not be the day you want your web site to go live, or the day you plan to launch your new business – please allow time for delivery and distribution or even just setting up shop. Think about the other things that rely on timely delivery of this project.

Budget

How much are you thinking of spending on the project? What is your upper limit?

It's important to match your budget to your expectations early on – we would much rather provide you with an estimate that you'll be happy with than give you a quote for a project full of bells and whistles that you can't afford.

You can always add in some extra features as the project progresses, but if you start with a realistic figure in mind there will be fewer disappointments later on.
